Honorable Mayor, Distinguished City Council and City Staff: My name is Roy Peacock and I am a member of an organization entitled, East County Ministries. Our team is the group of people that is putting together this year’s Antioch Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. First, I want to thank you on behalf of the team for the privilege we have had in putting together this event. We have been working under the direction of a specific passage from the Bible that reads,
As part of our planning process we have had the privilege of praying for each of you regularly. Second, to date we have sold nearly 80 tickets for the breakfast. We have numerous people from the community who will be participating in the breakfast. Again, the breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, 2000, at 7:00 in the morning at Humphrey’s on the Delta. It is scheduled to complete by 9:00. Finally, I am pleased to present to you on behalf of the nationwide Prayer Breakfast Network this certificate which recognizes Antioch as a “City of Distinction.” So, on behalf of the nationwide Prayer Breakfast Network and East County Ministries, I would like to present you this certificate.
